Sustainability is a mindset, which pushes to evaluate the impact of all choices, behaviours and actions, in a long-term context, in order to optimize the use of resources, limiting the negative consequences as much as possible.
For some time, but especially in recent years, Rifra, in the social sphere, has chosen to devolve the “value” created by the company to support and support various associations in various fields, from Cultural / Artistic to Didactic / Sports, to Social Solidarity and Safeguarding the territory for its natural and cultural assets.
As part of its integrated management system, Rifra earned the first Quality, Environment and Safety certification years ago and, as a commitment to continuous improvement, the next goal is the achievement, by 2023, of the ISO 50001 certify in order to improve efficiency of the energy resources.
Talking about sustainability at corporate level implies taking a position, the commitment to develop concrete solutions for the future in the present with constant investment, in order to leave to our children a better world.
First, we decided to adopt corporate management systems that are always at the forefront, given that internal sustainability begins with how you manage your human resources and your working environment.
Working in the world of plastics, achieving environmental sustainability is one of our main objectives, and this translates into the reduction of the environmental impact of the production phases and the particular attention paid to the optimal consumption of natural resources.
It is essential that sustainability must be a real goal that it is able to have a concrete impact for the planet and for the well-being of people.
For this reason, we have introduced the concept of sustainability throughout our production cycle, both “upstream” and “downstream” by focusing both at the level of materials and production processes and by encouraging the adoption of solutions with a lower environmental impact by the final user.
The adoption of sustainable practices as a mere marketing tool has never been a choice for Rifra, as for the company the only effective communication is the one that starts from a true and proactive listening to the needs of the market and the consequent achieve of truly sustainable solutions.
To achieve this ambitious goal, since the beginning of the year 2000 we have studied and developed a series of sustainable product lines, such as RIFRABIO, RIFRABIOBASED, RIFRAGREEN and RIFRACYCLE made with BIO polymers or recycled polymers, with the scope of prefer the choice of sustainable resources over the extraction and production of virgin material.
Furthermore, to encourage “downstream” sustainability, we have invested in the development of substitute materials for paper and metal with RIFRAPAPER and RIFRAULTRATECH, highly engineered products, designed to replicate the technical and performance characteristics of the above-mentioned materials, but with a very high environmental cost. lower in terms of consumption of natural resources such as water, as well as CO2 emissions.
Following a similar logic, but with completely different applications, we have designed RIFRANIR, a special composition of colour master aimed at ensuring the correct reading of the resin by the NIR sorting systems, helping the optimization of the waste selection and disposal process, and therefore the effectiveness of recycling.
